Tonight at 21:27 hours we were alerted for a Working Residential Fire on Quillen Drive on Chincoteague
By CHINCOTEAGUE VOLUNTEER FIRE CO.
July 15, 2026
Upon response units were alerted that the active fire had been doused. Once units were on scene a gas leak was discovered inside the household. The cause of the fire was ignition of a stove which ignited the leak and gas from around the stove. It caused a mild explosion and thankfully was able to be put by a resident out once the leak had been ignited. Units checked for extension, shut off the gas, and held all responding units to just Station 3 personnel.
Thank you to all who responded, be safe out in the heat!
